Khatam-al- Anbya Hospital

The Khatam-al-Anbya Hospital is a public hospital in Natanz with fifty beds capacity. The hospital decided to establish the wastewater treatment unit in the early months of 2020, during the Covid-19 out-break. The Peyvand Ab Sepahan expert team immediately started to work on the project, considering all the safety protocols.

Location: Natanz, Isfahan Province

Capacity: 100 cubic meter per day

Contract form: EPC

Control System: PLC

The material of Construction: Concrete

Treatment method: Activated Sludge (EAAS)
Designed Wastewater Process for this Plant include:

  • Racks and Screen (Bucket)

The primary unit of the wastewater treatment plant is the rack and screening. This unit includes a physical separation to prevent solid particles’ entry into the other sections, for instance, plastic bottles, paper, wood sticks, leaves, etc. Screeners can be designed in various capacities, considering the flow rate, particle diameter, and operation.

  • Floatation and grit removal

Grit reflects particles such as sand, gravel, ash, shards of glass, and other fine solids. The floatation and grit removal unit is similar to the sedimentation tank. The solid particles’ electrical charge is often neutral, and they are heavier than water. Therefore, separation takes place by settling at the bottom of the tank over time. Fats and oils are lighter than water. Hence, they float on the surface of the tank and will be separated from the effluent.

  • Equalization and pumping
  • Aeration Tank
  • Coagulation and Flocculation Tank

Biological treatment is very effectual for wastewater with organic matters. The process involves removing organics by biomasses, in this case, Activated sludge, Coagulation, and sludge discharge.

  • Bio-sand filter
  • Chlorine injection tank
  • sludge Dewatering tank

Sludge dewatering is an essential step in wastewater treatment. The separated solids recycle into the Coagulation tank, and the spare part discharges safely.

  • Wastewater storage tank

The hospital environmental department planned to use treated effluent in the hospital green space irrigation. Therefore, a storage tank was designed base on the irrigation plan.
